Cookie & Tracking Technologies

Cookie Policy

This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies we use on MarketingHub.ca, what each one does, how long it stays on your device, and how to control them. Reviewed under PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, the CCPA / CPRA (California) and other US state privacy laws, and the EU ePrivacy directive.

Effective date: June 4, 2026 · Last updated: June 4, 2026

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels and SDKs. Together we call them "tracking technologies".

Cookies can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by services we use, e.g. analytics or video embeds). They can also be session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (kept for a defined period).

Categories & consent

We classify cookies into four categories. Only "Strictly necessary" cookies are set by default. All other categories require your opt-in consent via our cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time.

1. Strictly necessary ALWAYS ON

Required to deliver the website. Cannot be turned off. No consent needed (PIPEDA Principle 3 exception for service delivery; Law 25 Section 8.1 second paragraph).

3. Analytics OPT-IN

4. Marketing & advertising OPT-IN

Used to measure ad effectiveness and to retarget visitors who have shown interest. For US residents in states with comprehensive privacy laws (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and others), this category is the consent control for what those laws call "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Opting out here is your "Do Not Sell or Share" choice. We currently set no marketing cookies on this site. If we add any in future, they will be listed here and only set after your express consent. Your Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal, where sent, is honoured as a withdrawal of consent for this category.

How to control cookies

  • Re-open the cookie banner: click "Cookie preferences" in the footer or banner. Your choices are saved with a timestamp in the mmp_consent_v1 record.
  • Clear & reset: clearing mmp_consent_v1 in your browser will show the banner again on next visit.
  • Browser-level: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies by site. See Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: if your browser signals GPC, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and marketing categories.
  • Email us: info@marketinghub.ca if you have trouble.

Cookies from third-party content

If we embed third-party content (YouTube video, social-media widget, map), that provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We only embed third-party content after you have consented to the relevant category. Until then, you will see a click-to-load placeholder.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our cookie usage changes. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes require fresh consent.
